In Verona, a refined traditional restaurant, managed by longtime restaurateur Gianni Pascucci, offers charming panoramic rooms overlooking the Adige River.

A charming restaurant reminiscent of the sophisticated atmosphere of 19th-century aristocratic establishments, it splendidly overlooks Ponte Pietra, the oldest Roman monument and one of the most beautiful views in Verona. It was during a romantic stroll across it that the current owners, Gianni Pascucci, former owner of Bottega del Vino, and Diana Tropinina, were captivated by a small, magical, semi-abandoned balcony overlooking the Adige River and dreamed of giving it a new lease of life.

So in 2012, after a meticulous restoration, Ristorante Ponte Pietra became a reality, and that balcony was reborn, becoming one of the most sought-after romantic locations in Verona. Spread across three floors, the restaurant includes three dining rooms, a wine cellar, and two splendid panoramic terraces overlooking the Roman Theater. Furnished with refined late 19th-century furniture, the intimate and classy atmosphere is enhanced by the soft lighting reflected in the gilded mirrors, the comfortable velvet armchairs, and the exquisitely Art Deco decorative objects that adorn the walls.

In the kitchen, Chef Sebastian revisits traditional Veronese dishes with a contemporary and vibrant twist, carefully selecting the finest ingredients, enhanced by a refined, creative touch and captivating presentation.

The menu changes every three months, cleverly blending solid tradition, such as Amarone risotto, with more creative dishes like “Benedetto Cavalieri” spaghetti with shrimp carbonara and black truffle, veal cheek with mashed potatoes and Jerusalem artichoke chips, or red tuna cutlet with soy mayonnaise and sprouts.

The wine list, with over 1,000 labels stored in the beautiful stone-vaulted cellar, is excellent in both quality and selection.

Dinner on the small terrace or at one of the tables by the window overlooking the river is one of the most beautiful experiences the city of love can offer to a traveler who loves food and good living.

The Secret

The premises, owned by the great étoile Carla Fracci, housed an antiques shop for years before being taken over by the current owners. On the top floor of the 15th-century building, there is also a charming suite with a panoramic view, which can be booked through the restaurant, a real treat for experiencing the most authentic Verona in a unique setting.
