Moro Cafè & Cocktail Bar
In Venice, signature drinks in the marvellous garden of Palazzo Franchetti

In the splendid garden and neo-Gothic rooms of Palazzo Franchetti in Venice, the mixology project of Moro Venice comes to life, a café and cocktail bar born from a love at first sight by chef Davide Bisetto and pastry chef Tim Ricci, general manager of the establishment, for this magical corner of the city.
Moro Café & Cocktail Bar is located inside the magnificent Palazzo Franchetti, owned by the Veneto Institute of Sciences, Letters and Arts, nestled between the Grand Canal, the Accademia Bridge, and a “secret” garden, one of the most beautiful in Venice.
Built in the second half of the 15th century, the building’s current appearance is due to Baron Raimondo Franchetti, from whom it takes its name. He and his wife Sarah Luisa de Rothschild restored it in the late 19th century, turning it into a jewel of Venetian Neo-Gothic style, complete with its famous monumental staircase designed by Camillo Boito.

We fell in love with this unique location in Venice and wanted to transform it into a meeting place, open all day for food and culture.
Moro Venice features two complementary spaces that accompany guests throughout the day. The first, Moro Restaurant, hosts lunches, dinners, and special events on the spectacular terrace overlooking the Grand Canal.
The second, Moro Cafè & Cocktail Bar, opens in the morning with breakfast and artisanal Viennese pastries, and continues into the evening with cocktails by bar manager Mauro Suman, named Italy’s best bartender at the 2023 Italian Cocktail Competition.

From afternoon until midnight, Moro Cafè becomes one of the most magical places in Venice for an aperitif, enjoyed among the thousand lights of the garden under the beautiful green Moorish-style umbrellas, or inside amidst the Gothic vaults and Rubelli fabrics of the dining room.
Among the cocktails offered are all of Mauro’s great classics and signatures, including the Moro Svecchiato, a drink inspired by the Americano, going back in time to a time before vermouth, when there was Barolo Chinato, and before bitters, there were amari, like Cynar, which is left to rest for a month before being served after reaching the perfect taste.

To complement your drinks, the menu offers “Perfect Marriage” pairings, featuring the fantastic desserts, as well as a variety of savory options, perfect for brunch or a light dinner. From eggs, such as the Bénédictine made with brioche, grilled Prague cheese, hollandaise sauce, and golden trout roe, to the Omelette with double Asiago cheese and triple guanciale cured meat, to leavened pastries like the Puccia Veneziana with creamed cod, olives, lamb’s lettuce, lemon, and anchovies, and salads like the Caprese Ricca with buffalo mozzarella, beefsteak, red onion, capers, olives, basil, and oregano.
And, after the aperitif, you can book a table at the Moro Restaurant, located just a few meters from the Café, on the wonderful panoramic terrace of Palazzo Franchetti overlooking the Grand Canal. A stunning location to enjoy the wonders that the exceptional duo Bisetto Ricci manages to create together with sous chef Riccardo Vettor and sommelier Giuseppe Negrini.

It goes without saying that Moro Cafè & Cocktail Bar has already become a favorite among Venetians seeking beauty and quality as a lifestyle.
The Secret
All of Moro Cafè’s pastry and leavened products are made in the laboratory located right in front of the garden, curiously inside the Church of San Vidal.
