Spinechile Resort (VI) — Veneto Secrets

Like in a fairy tale, hidden among lush woods and silent valleys, Spinechile Resort, as its name suggests, is nestled on the "edge of the mountain" from which you can enjoy one of the most incredible views and gastronomic offerings in Veneto.

Created from the renovation of an old barn in Contrà Pacche, 600 meters above Schio, Spinechile Resort is the little Eden of Michelin-starred chef Corrado Fasolato and his wife Paola, who assists him in managing the restaurant and the enviable wine list of approximately 1,400 labels.

Reached via a secluded winding road, the Resort immediately reveals its authenticity, which speaks of concreteness, excellence, and nature.

The entrance path is lined with aromatic herbs, a veritable botanical garden overlooking a 104-square-meter open-plan kitchen, custom-built from wood and glass to blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings. Inside the main building, which has retained its original features, such as exposed stone walls and imposing wooden beams, are the restaurant’s dining rooms. The private room on the ground floor exudes a home-like living room atmosphere, complete with a large wall-mounted bookcase and a magnificent wood and stone fireplace crafted from the old entrance door jambs.

Ascend the beautiful steel staircase to the first floor and you reach the panoramic dining room, dominated by a breathtaking floor-to-ceiling window. From here, on clear days, the view extends from the surrounding valley to the plain, all the way to the lights of Venice. Tastefully furnished by Paola, a passionate interior designer and antiques enthusiast, the Resort is a fascinating mix of antiques, family furniture, and other objects acquired over the years that, like a three-dimensional map, tell the couple’s story from their years in Alto Adige to their Venetian period.

The lamps are also unique, some handcrafted by Paola from woven branches found in the woods, others from salvaged pieces of old stoves. This creative realm frames Corrado’s cuisine. After high-level experience and numerous accolades, he has decided to launch his own personal project, where he creates the raw materials for his recipes like a true alchemist, cultivating and raising them according to his own (extremely high) quality standards.

The seasonal menus are exciting journeys of flavor that combine the charm of the profound silence of the mountains with the Venetian art of losing oneself, leaving time outside the door to abandon oneself to the moment and savor it with all the senses.

The Secret

Among antique furniture, reclaimed objects, and designer pieces, Spinechile’s décor has been further enhanced by the inclusion of several works of art. In addition to Eva Trentin’s paintings, visible in the private room, a contemporary tapestry by artist Enne Effe has been placed at the entrance. Its vibrant colors set the tone for Spinechile’s eclectic entrance hall, complete with a red leather sofa that immediately invites you to enjoy this unique atmosphere.
