Dolomiti Lodge Alverà (BL) — Veneto Secrets

Opened in December 2017, Dolomiti Lodge Alverà of the Alverà family is the perfect address for lovers of design and good living, a pearl among the pearls of the Venetian Dolomites

Run by the Alverà family, the boutique hotel boasts an eco-sustainable soul that finds its roots in Cortina’s traditional rural heritage. In addition to its wonderful panoramic position and swimming pool that embrace the Tofane, Croda da Lago, Becco di Mezzodì and Cadin, the structure definitely stands out for the beauty of the interior design, extremely sophisticated despite the natural wood that dominates, of course, the scene, used both for the floors and the boiserie that covers the walls.

In the mail hall, guests are welcomed by Cortina’s most photographed bear: this is Edra’s Pack couch upholstered in faux fur and highlighted by the scenographic chandelier Random by Studio Italia Design, made up of dozens of pink gold bubbles.

Contemporary design meets the finest local craftsmanship: the Alverà family has worked, in fact, with the best local artisans in order to give a touch of uniqueness to the interiors. As a result, each room is enriched by a statement piece, such as the huge metal fireplace shaped like the Tofane mountains and designed by the blacksmith & artist Giancarlo Candeago, the antique oak floor recovered from old farmhouses from Antico è, up to the boiserie made by the carpenter Alberto Dimai.

Dolomiti Lodge Alverà (BL) — Veneto Secrets

The Dolomiti Lodge Restaurant, led by chefs Renzo and Claudio Alverà, will not disappoint either the fans of the traditional cuisine or the most international clientele. The menu offers, in fact, a local dishes selection – boasting the culinary landmarks of the region such as casunziei, canederli, beef goulash or deer fillet, as well as a more international one that includes sophisticated proposals such as Japanese Wagyu beef mini burgers or fillet. Everything is homemade, starting with the lovely desserts and, where possible, made healthier and tastier thanks to the use of refined culinary techniques and a meticulous choice of excellent local materials.

The beautiful wine cellar counts over 200 labels of wines and grappas, including local gems, such as the Sforzato di Valtellina based on grapes grown at over 2000 meters high or the Franz Haas Alto Adige Pinot Nero.

The hotel rooms all equipped with a large 10sqm terrace with a view of the Tofane (9 hours of sunshine guaranteed per day), whilst the main suites also boast private Finnish sauna and Turkish bath.

Open only for guests of the hotel, the structure also offers a luxury spa with organic snacks & herb tea service immersed in the evocative setting of the Alpine panorama.

Dolomiti Lodge Alverà is a must-visit place for the beautiful international crowd that frequents Cortina.

The Secret

The construction of the structure took place from scratch in record time: only 9 months, during which the Alverà family was present on-site every day to make sure that every detail was just truly perfect.
