Located on the fourth floor of the JW Marriott Venice luxury resort in the small Isola delle Rose, the rooftop offers the most beautiful 360° panorama on the skyline of St. Mark’s Square. The huge terrace includes a bar, various lounge and dinner areas and a wonderful swimming pool that merges with a perspective game into the waves of the Lagoon.

The interior of the restaurant is inspired by the colors of the sea, where white is alternated with shades of blue made warm and cheerful by straw hats and bags used as decoration. The cuisine is typically Mediterranean and offers classic dishes of the Italian tradition, especially fish, but also salads and cold cuts, also perfect for brunch.

Sagra is also perfect for an aperitif: try the signature cocktails paired with Venetian cicchetti (evenings with live DJ sets are also organized, usually on Sunday evenings).

On warm summer evenings, watching the sun setting over the lagoon is truly an unforgettable experience. Open from March to October, the hotel also includes the fine dining Agli Amici Dopolavoro, a beautiful Spa, as well as many other facilities.
The resort can be reached in approximately 20 minutes from Piazza San Marco, thanks to a convenient free transfer service that departs every half hour.

The Secret

Sacca Sessola, or Isola delle Rose, has a “recent” history. It is, in fact, an artificial island built in 1870 with the land coming from the excavations of the commercial port of Santa Marta. The structure that houses the hotel was inaugurated in 1936 as a pneumology hospital, which was then decommissioned and abandoned in the 1980s.
