Locanda alle Porte 1632 (VE)
Immersed in a truly romantic atmosphere, Locanda alle Porte will make you experience the charming Jesolo of the 16th century. The historic inn is located on the only island of Jesolo, accessible by a small bridge; a tiny strip of land surrounded by picturesque fishing canals.
A former customs house, boasting a truly unique and fascinating history, Locanda alle Porte offers a fine selection of traditional fish recipes prepared with fresh local products. Don’t miss the chance to try spaghetti pasta with pevarasse, local savory clams, or the delicious Venetian cod or fish in saor, another yummy recipe from the area.
In wintertime, it’s possible to eat in the cosy wine bar in the back of the restaurant, while during summer you can enjoy the beautiful pergola, nestled among the quiet Lagoon.
The Locanda, which hosts also a B&B on the first floor, is the perfect place for a holiday or a break after a ride on the beautiful cycling paths that surrounds the inn.
The Secret
At the entrance, you can still see the stone stele from 1632 with the tariff of the duties that the boats were required to pay to cross the ancient customs and which gives the name to the Inn.
