Glamping Canonici di San Marco is a paradise of rare beauty that combines the rural charm of the typical Venetian farmhouses with the exoticism of the colonial-era luxury camps.

First luxury glamping created in Italy in 2010 (trend born from the union of the words camping and glamor), since 2014 Emanuela and Monica have taken care of every detail of the 2 wonderful suites and 6 suggestive lodges (tents) with swimming pool immersed in the silence of nature, each decorated in different colors and styles, from tribal to boho-chic, with exotic-flavored statement pieces and large chandeliers.

The guest house, available to guests for moments of relaxation, for breakfast or tailor-made dinners, is located in the 17th-century barchessa of Villa Pomai-Rota, now Muneratti, within a park born on the best-preserved Roman graticolato in Italy (i.e. the lands given as a battle prize to the most valiant Roman soldiers).

Restored according to the Japanese aesthetic conception of wabi-sabi, which means “accepting the beauty of imperfection”, every corner of the old barchessa tells its ancient story: so in the kitchen you can glimpse an old cow manger, in the cellar you can spot the nails with which the cold cuts were hung dry, and the old granary has been transformed into the two suites, the Junior Suite Verde Laguna and the Rosso Veneziano Suite, which still retain its flavor and some original details.

All rooms are furnished by Emanuela and Monica with original objects that they enjoy finding around the world: recycled artifacts from Bali, brocante objects from the markets of southern France, antiques found in Piazzola sul Brenta or in Portobuffolè. Thus a colonial leather suitcase has been turned into a small table or an ancient Balinese hat into a romantic bedside lamp.

Each tent offers all the comforts, accordingly with the total eco-sustainability of the structures, and great privacy thanks to the déhor that overlooks the surrounding garden allowing guests to try the experience of sleeping outdoor, on a comfortable canopy bed, right in the middle of the nature.

Breakfast, served with homemade cakes and biscuits, is prepared every day with a different mise en place, chosen from the most original tableware collected by the owners. In this way, both the objects and stories they hold become an integral part of the unforgettable exotic journey offered by Canonici.

Eastern philosophies are the leitmotif for the many experiences offered, such as the sensory walk in the forest, Shinrin-yoku, or painting on water, Suminagashi, a true therapy for the soul. Emanuela and Monica will also be able to advise you on the best itineraries to enjoy the nearby beauties of Veneto, while for a romantic evening it is possible to reserve a Chic Pic-Nic and dine by candlelight with local products in the privacy of your own tent or in the villa’s barchessa.

The Secret

The first tent was created by Emanuela and her husband Federico in 2009 in their home garden (in via Canonici…hence the name Glamping Canonici) to give a “shelter” to the many objects collected during their travels and to be able to host there friends from around the world…Following the incredible success of that first tent, the Canonici glamping was born in 2010 and the Sandat Glamping tents in Bali in 2013.
