A weekend of special events and chocolate eggs that pay homage to the gondoliers

Now part of The Luxury Collection® Hotels & Resorts by Marriott International, the hotel inaugurates its season of spring events with a rich weekend of special initiatives dedicated to Easter.
Few things in the world are more evocative than sitting on the terrace of the Gritti, when the sun that is about to set floods the Basilica della Salute with beautiful colours.

On Sunday 20 April at the Club Del Doge restaurant, Chef Alberto Fol will stage a masterful Easter Lunch with live musical accompaniment from a harpist and a four-course tasting menu combining seasonal ingredients and traditional recipes to be enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the Grand Canal or in the refined internal room with its eighteenth-century charm.
On Monday, April 21, the special Brunch at The Gritti Palace returns with the special Easter Monday Brunch, accompanied by a DJ set, show cooking and buffet islands set up in the beautiful cooking school The Gritti Epicurean School, while the tables will be set on the Gritti Terrace overlooking the Grand Canal.
In addition, from April 18 to 21, the hotel’s common areas, the bar and the restaurant will be decorated with flowers and chocolate sculptures with the theme “Easter is Spring” and, in the guest rooms, an Easter egg in the shape of a “gondolier”, created by Pastry Chef Salvatore Gattullo, will be offered and accompanied by a sparkling wine for a special toast.
The Secret
On Easter morning the Doge, dressed in gold and sable fur, welcomed the canons of San Marco to the Doge’s Palace and went with them to the Basilica di San Marco, while in the evening the Doge’s procession in its most solemn form went by land to the monastery of San Zaccaria.
