In Valdobbiadene, a wonderful traditional trattoria overlooking the Prosecco Hills, with romantic tables for dining by candlelight among the vineyards and, new for the summer, the original Table of Dreams, set up under an ancient cherry tree for a very "secret" dinner.
Imagine the beauty of the UNESCO Heritage Prosecco Hills all around, the scent of the grill made on the fireplace just like it once was, and to savor a glass of Prosecco while the nature around us changes color and the sky takes on the wonderful purple tones of the sunset, before being enveloped by the magic of candles.
It is for this unforgettable experience, as romantic as it is authentic, that the historic Trattoria alla Cima, located a few minutes from the center of Valdobbiadene, has now become famous. The Dinner among the Vineyards, bookable in only 6 tables for two people, is, in fact, served among the picturesque rows of vines surrounded by flowers and lanterns with the attention to detail of a restaurant of great charm.

Very “secret” news of summer 2022 is the Table of Dreams, for 2 people, set up under a wonderful cherry tree, far from everything and everyone, so much so that there is a dedicated waiter all evening bringing the food, immersed in the vines and decorated with a romantic swing, flowers and cushions. A real treat to experience the thrill of eating, just like in the past, immersed in nature, by candlelight alone.
The tasting menu is a “surprise” and begins with a Prosecco-based aperitif and continues with 5 courses inspired by the long tradition of Trattoria alla Cima. Its story begins, in fact, back in 1968 when, after an experience in the management of a restaurant in Treviso, Antonio Rebuli returns to his hills and decides to restore an old family farmhouse and start serving simple meals and good wine produced in the family vineyards.
The restaurant opened in 1969 and immediately achieved great success, thanks to a splendid view and the good products of the farm. In the 2000s Isidoro, Antonio’s son, joined the management of the restaurant, continuing the tradition of the Rebuli family devoted to continuous evolution: he made the ancient recipes lighter and more contemporary, introduced new meats for the now legendary grill of the restaurant, enriched the brigade with new staff with experience in starred restaurants.
In 2020, other news arrives: the event designer Anne Vendramini joins the team, the events in the vineyard are born and in July 2021, just 1 km from the restaurant, the Boutique Hotel Municipio 1815 is born, completing the hospitality proposal of the Rebuli family. Its history is contained in the name: built in 1815, it was used as the municipal seat of the villages of San Pietro di Barbozza, Santo Stefano and Guia, then damaged during the First World War and renovated in the early 1920s and from 1929 to 1975 when it became the home of the town’s primary school.
Today, the rooms on the ground floor where the post office and municipal offices were located and those on the upper floor, where the major resided, give way to a design boutique hotel and a magnificent panoramic terrace where an à la carte breakfast is served.
The instructions for a perfect weekend? Book the Table of Dreams, if you are two, arriving strictly before the sun goes down to enjoy the sunset, or, if you prefer to order à la carte, one of the tables overlooking the hills of the magnificent veranda in front of the restaurant. Try the legendary grilled meats of the Trattoria such as the beef ribs and the lamb chops, truly unmissable. Homemade pasta that follows seasonality is also very good, such as bigoli with duck sauce, and traditional recipes that have a story to tell.
In the evening, book the Junior Suite with four-poster bed at Municipio 1815 and in the morning enjoy the fantastic pancakes overlooking the surrounding hills.
If, on the other hand, you wake up late, start with an aperitif: the restaurant’s wine list, especially the ones from the Veneto region, is exceptional and the excellent house sparkling wine is always served as a welcome drink. The Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, in fact, is produced in the 2 hectares and half of the vineyard in which the restaurant is immersed in the brut, extra dry and still varieties.

Everything at the Trattoria alla Cima speaks of history and tradition: the cherry tree of the Table of Dreams is the one where as a child Isidoro used to go up and play, the menu never misses the Merenda del Mazarol which is inspired by a mythical elf of local legends, while the recipe of the grill is still the same, very secret, invented by dad Antonio a long time ago.
