La Querciana
The country-chic estate that offers charming hospitality and farm-to-table cuisine

In Zelarino, between Venice, Padua, and Treviso, Tenuta La Querciana is an oasis of biodiversity created by the Bucci family, a sustainable farm with four souls: the Al Segnavento restaurant and bistro, the Fiori e Frutti country relais, the Ai Brillanti osteria and shop, and the Farm House educational farm.
Nestled between the waters of the Dese River and the breath-taking lagoon, just 15 kilometers from the heart of Venice, La Querciana is a ten-hectare microcosm of pure biodiversity where British chic rural elegance meets the slow pace of unspoiled nature.
Born from the farsighted vision of the Bucci family in the 2000s, Tenuta La Querciana represents the perfect archetype of sustainable hospitality and locally sourced food and wine. A destination of excellence structured into four distinct souls, each capable of offering an unforgettable sensory experience.

For over five centuries we have cultivated a legacy of land, vision and responsibility, transforming the Italian agricultural tradition into a contemporary project of excellence, sustainability and hospitality near Venice.

1. Farm House: The Farm and Biodiversity
The beating heart of the entire estate is its Farm House, which observes the natural cycle of the seasons and adopts ethical and sustainable practices. The farm specializes in the selection of top-quality Quarter Horses, Suffolk sheep, Piétrain pigs, and the preservation of historic Venetian poultry breeds.
Also recognized as an active Educational Farm in Venice, it offers unique experiential programs, such as its famous cooking classes, to rediscover the rural roots of the area, collect organic eggs, or simply stroll through the gardens that provide the fresh vegetables that supply the estate daily.

2. Fiori e Frutti: The Charming Relais
Fiori e Frutti is the agri-resort that perfectly embodies the aesthetic of high-end country hospitality, with 14 rooms featuring exposed-beam ceilings, country-chic furnishings reminiscent of the English countryside, and a rejuvenating view of the estate’s grounds.
A total wellness experience awaits you, thanks to the splendid outdoor pool with solarium and a water and water lily oasis nestled in the greenery and surrounded by flowering hedges. Waking up is a tribute to the flavors of the mainland: a homemade breakfast is served in a welcoming room and offers a selection of locally sourced organic delicacies, including homemade cakes and tarts made with the estate’s fruit, freshly harvested eggs, local cheeses, artisanal cured meats, and natural juices. All of this is orchestrated by the team of Tenuta Alberto Bucci’s executive chef, who has extensive international and Michelin-starred experience.

3. Al Segnavento: The Signature Restaurant and Bistro
The food and wine hub of Tenuta La Querciana is expressed through Al Segnavento, a project of excellence passionately led by the Bucci brothers: chef Alberto Bucci, a creative and refined mind following in the footsteps of his famous mother, Patrizia Delponte, known to all as Pattychef, winner of the eighth edition of the TV show “Cuochi d’Italia,” and Nicola Bucci, an impeccable host with warm and spontaneous elegance responsible for hospitality alongside maître Alberto.
The menu draws inspiration from dishes created using the estate’s first fruits and vegetables, such as homemade ravioli stuffed with white guinea fowl and lemon thyme with a reduction of Paduan hen, the tender, slow-cooked Suffolk lamb from the estate, or the soft and crispy egg with creamed lettuce and garden produce.

Each recipe is guided by the rigorous use of raw materials grown directly on the family farm or sourced from friendly companies that adhere to the same philosophy.
The culinary offering is unique, but divided into three distinct yet complementary areas: the restaurant, located in the rooms on the right as you enter, also perfect for banquets and events; the more informal bistro in the left wing; and the beautiful summer terrace overlooking the estate’s park.

4. Ai Brillanti: the Osteria and Shop
Located next to Al Segnavento, Ai Brillanti is the most convivial, informal, and carefree side of Tenuta La Querciana, the perfect spot for a glass of local wine, a sunset aperitif, or a light lunch, crafted with the same attention to quality and provenance.
Here, you can order typical Venetian ciccheti (tapas) with a rural twist, platters of artisanal house cured meats, mountain cheeses paired with honey and jams, and traditional country dishes like homemade meatballs, parmigiana with garden-grown eggplant, or naturally leavened focaccia filled with farm-fresh produce, all accompanied by an excellent selection of Venetian wines.

Ai Brillanti also features a Shop, a direct sales corner created to allow guests to take home a piece of the estate’s biodiversity and artisanal excellence.
La Querciana is such a beautiful estate that it was chosen as the protagonist of Donna Leon, the famous television series that tells the story of Guido Brunetti, police inspector in Venice.
The Secret
For over five hundred years, the Bucci family has been landowners with vision and strong passion. In this long, centuries-long journey, the figure of Giulio Bucci from Minervino Murge stands out, shining like a beacon of innovation and courage. He was not simply a landowner, but a true architect of the agricultural landscape, capable of challenging archaic traditions to propel agriculture toward modernity. Giulio’s most famous work was the radical transformation of the Lamalunga estate. There, he introduced pioneering techniques such as deep plowing and planted specialized vineyards and olive groves where previously there had been only uncultivated pastures. He built cellars that at the time were considered true jewels of engineering, a constant commitment that found its official consecration at the Turin General Exhibition of 1884 when he was awarded the Grand Diploma of Honour for his overall work and the Silver Medal for the superior quality of his wines.
