Sorapiana
The charming Wine Relais of the historic Adami winery among the panoramic hills of Colbertaldo di Vidor

Among the panoramic hills of Vidor, the dream of the Sorapiana wine relais and the first single-vineyard Prosecco in Valdobbiadene, the famous Vigneto Giardino Asciutto created by the Adami family in 1933, was born.
In the hills of Colbertaldo di Vidor, where the land rises and viticulture becomes “heroic,” lies one of the most noble and historic wineries in Conegliano Valdobbiadene: the Adami winery.
Today, its historic winemaking tradition merges with a new take on contemporary hospitality with the opening of Sorapiana, a charming relais with three rooms and a state-of-the-art panoramic tasting room, offering unique experiences “with a view.”

Taking care of our “garden”, of nature and the people we surround ourselves with, means letting a possible future flourish and confidently nurture it along the lines of tradition.

The Story: The Adami Family’s Vigneto Giardino
It all began in the 1920s, when grandfather Abele Adami purchased a unique vineyard, naturally shaped like an amphitheater, from the renowned agronomist Count Balbi Valier of Pieve di Soligo, who had begun growing his “perfect” Glera grape here, the first to do so in the area.
To honor the excellence of this cru, Abele, a true visionary, when Prosecco was still mostly produced for home consumption, decided to name this wine Riva Giardino Asciutto, the first-ever example of a “Single Vineyard” registered in Valdobbiadene.

Adami wines: sustainability and love for the land
Now in its fourth generation, with Fabrizio, Claudio, and Cristina, the Adami family has continued to enhance the biodiversity of the hills, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, parceling out production to showcase the differences and nuances of each individual slope.
In addition to the flagship of this historic dynasty, Vigneto Giardino, other standout wines include Col Credas, a refined Extra Brut from the steep Rive di Farra di Soligo slopes; the dynamic Bosco di Gica, a contemporary Brut; the smooth Dei Casel Extra Dry; and finally, the ancient Col Fondo, a bottle-fermented wine refermented on the lees.

For years, the winery has completely abandoned herbicides, preferring a spontaneous and thoughtful management of grass cover between the rows. This commitment to the environment continues even after the harvest, with the use of 100% renewable energy, the reuse of organically riched washing water for the vineyards, and the choice of lightweight packaging, including low-impact bottles and completely PVC-free cartons.
Sorapiana: Adami’s new wine shop & charming relais
Opened in 2024, Sorapiana is the new gem of Adami’s hospitality, managed by the wonderful Cristina Adami. A beautifully restored ancient rustic house nestled among the rows of vines, nestled right across from the famous Vigneto Giardino, where it all began.

The Tasting Room & Wine Shop: immense windows blur the line between inside and out, natural wood, and wrought-iron details. Here, from Tuesday to Saturday, guests can enjoy tailor-made wine experiences led by expert sommeliers.
The Relais and Rooms: Sorapiana offers three rooms with king-size beds and a fridge stocked with every delicacy, from a bottle of Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG (refilled daily) to everything you need for breakfast—fruit, muffins, cereals, cookies, yogurt, jams, ham, and cheese—to be enjoyed on one of the two terraces with a view in complete freedom.

The Sorapiana Experiences
There are many experiences available at Sorapiana, bookable for both wine relais guests and external visitors:
Tastings and aperitifs: in three convenient and intelligent versions, depending on the time of day. You can choose between guided tastings with vineyard tours, free mini tastings, and aperitifs by the glass or bottle accompanied by platters of local specialties.

GiGiro Experience: You can explore Valdobbiadene aboard a vintage red Fiat 500 Gigina, accompanied by a bottle of Prosecco and a picnic/snack set to stop and admire the view.
Sorapiana is among the most panoramic places in the Conegliano Valdobbiadene area, where you can enjoy all the beauty of nature and the finest Prosecco in complete relaxation.
The Secret
It’s only the Adami winery that still calls its Prosecco “Asciutto” (Asciutto is Dry in Italian) rather than “dry,” in memory of the Riva Giardino Asciutto, which was presented in 1933 at the First Exhibition of Typical Italian Wines in Siena, becoming one of the historic pillars of Prosecco Superiore di Valdobbiadene and the symbol of the Adami winery.
