Morus Alba (TV) — Veneto Secrets

In Riese Pio X, Morus Alba is a home restaurant managed by the brothers Alessia and Riccardo that encloses a fairytale world made of rooms decorated in different styles, from the 19th-century bohémien to the 50s American diner, up to a secret garden with a romantic wooden house.

In the countryside between Castelfranco Veneto and Bassano del Grappa, Morus Alba is a home restaurant and location for events and shootings that seems to have emerged from the imagination of a set designer on a journey through time.

Open at the end of 2021, Morus Alba was born from the imagination of Alessia and her brother Riccardo’s love for cooking who, in the large family home, gave life to an original space, open by reservation only, which offers each room for the exclusive use of guests, to feel pampered with a totally dedicated service.

We love to amaze our guests right from the moment they arrive, involving the senses, from sight to smell, from hearing to taste, through the creation of special settings and menus.

(Alessia and Riccardo)

Having grown up from an early age surrounded by history and their parents’ passion for antique markets, restoration and collecting, it seemed natural to them, once they grew up, to continue this “game” and decorate the various parts of the house with recycled objects and furniture, giving life to wonderful stories to tell.

Thus, after Riccardo’s various experiences in restaurants in the area, the two brothers decided to combine their two passions and found a catering and event organization business inspired by a symbol of the house: the large mulberry tree that dominates their small “secret garden”.

Morus Alba means, in fact, white mulberry, but it also suggests the idea of contrast between darkness and light, suggesting the sense of rebirth of the ancient home and of Alessia and Riccardo’s life in this new project.

The location is divided into various wonderful rooms, each furnished with a completely different style that adapts to different needs. There is the Gipsy Farm, once the barn of the house: a large room, perfect for a dinner with friends and small parties, furnished in country style reminiscent of ancient 19th-century country houses with a large convivial table, a fireplace and a piano always ready to play.

The latest creation, new for 2023, is Cornelia, once part of the farmhouse stable, which takes its name from Alessia’s favorite cow when she was a child, imbued with the romantic and decadent charm of the French Belle Époque with candelabras, chandeliers, mirrors and armchairs, truly perfect for a dinner for two.

On the lower floor, there is the American Dream Room, furnished in the style of American diners of the 50s and 60s with photos of pin-ups and actors from old Hollywood, Formica tables, colorful sofas and even a vintage Vespa with sidecar for travel with your imagination, perfect for dinners and private parties.

And then there is a real gem, unique in Veneto: the Wooden House in the Secret Garden, a tiny wooden house under the illuminated centuries-old mulberry tree where you can book romantic dinners for just two people and let yourself be transported into a fairy-tale world.

In summer, the suggestive portico of the house and the garden that surrounds the Wooden House are also available for events, which Alessia sets up with a thousand lights and candles, creating truly magical atmospheres.

The booking format is truly “secret”: you can choose from a “surprise” menu (special needs can still be mentioned at the time of booking) with a choice of meat, fish or vegetarian consisting of entrée, starter, first course, second course, a dessert that follows the seasonality of the products and Riccardo’s creativity of the moment.

His dishes are the result of constant creative research and the desire to always propose something new, to stimulate the imagination, curiosity and sense of play that are part of the Morus Alba philosophy.

The Secret

Many of the vegetables and flowers in the Morus Alba displays come from the vegetable garden and garden cared for by Alessia and Riccardo’s parents in respect of the rhythms of nature and their valorization.
