In the heart of the generous land of Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG, the Locanda perfectly embodies the country-chic dream of an early 1900s farmhouse. Part of the Tenuta Villa Sandi, it houses a restaurant with a magnificent panoramic porch surrounded by a park from which you can enjoy a beautiful view of the adjacent hills.
The genuine warmth and sense of “home” that you breathe as soon as you arrive at the Locanda interpret the rural tradition of these hills with class and is accompanied by an extraordinary attention to detail. Hand-embroidered laces and tablecloths, porcelain and curtains with a delightful floral decoration, and romantic lampshades are just some of the details that embellish the rooms.
La Locanda is the perfect place to taste the traditional home cooking from Treviso as well as Villa Sandi’s wines, including Prosecco Cartizze Vigna La Rivetta, the only one to have received “Tre Bicchieri” from the Gambero Rosso prestigious guide. On the menu, based on seasonal ingredients, do not miss the local must-tries: from snails au gratin to creamed cod with polenta, from fresh pasta with meat sauce to grilled meat cuts such as cockerel and beef fillet.
The Locanda also offers six delightful rooms, furnished in a rustic style, to experience the thrill of the most authentic Venetian countryside immersed in the greenery of one of its most beautiful hilly areas.
In summer, it is wonderful to have lunch on the porch overlooking the park, while in winter you can book the intimate and suggestive English-style veranda on the first floor overlooking the vineyards or a table in front of the large fireplace where grilled meat is cooked.
If you are not in a hurry, it is really worth booking a guided tour to the nearby Villa Sandi, the splendid 17th-century residence that houses one of the most beautiful wineries in Veneto, or have an aperitif in the adjacent Bottega del Vino, where you can also buy the wines tasted at the Locanda.
The interior design, which manages to perfectly combine Venetian tradition and international refinement, changing according to the seasons, is personally supervised by Augusta Pavan, wife of Giancarlo Moretti Polegato, president of Villa Sandi, who loves to look for unique objects in the best antique markets of Europe to decorate the various properties of the group.
