Enotega Mariga has become a hideaway for serious wine lovers as well as a popular hot spot for a drink with friends, perfectly orchestrated by the owners, the lovely Giancarlo and Rosy.

Located in a narrow street in the historic center, Mariga looks like an intimate wine cellar characterized by wooden shelves full of bottles and a huge convivial table, placed in the middle of the room, that really encourages people to get to know each other. Curious objects, funny street signs donated by customers, memorabilia, and photos of friends complete the décor in a very spontaneous way, presenting new additions every day.

The fruit of extensive research and dedication, Mariga offers a truly enviable selection of wines and around 40-45 wines by the glass daily, including whites, reds, and sparkling wines, with a preference for natural wines.

To accompany a good glass of wine, there are always mixed platters or delicious house-made crostini, such as the one with Villgrater speck, a true highlight, or other cured meats from local producers. Among the cheeses, the focus is on hard ones, such as pecorino or Emmental, or alternatively, creamy gorgonzola. The magic of Mariga lies precisely in the spirit of genuine conviviality and the unique atmosphere that permeates the place; a casual haven that invites you to lose yourself in barroom chatter and high philosophy, mingling, with a slightly bohemian spirit, among the many artists, entrepreneurs, and creatives who populate beautiful Bassano del Grappa.

The Secret

On the right side of the counter and behind it, two curious works of art have been placed; a plate with a painted eye and a portrait of a lady with a nineteenth-century flavor. Both are part of the production of a local artist who asked the wine bar’s owners to permanently displayed them on the walls of the wine shop.
