Diesel Farm is Renzo Rosso's "buen retiro", a winery where wine is born from a prized terroir, in keeping with the entrepreneur's vision: obsessive attention to detail, respect for the raw materials, and that touch of rock audacity that transforms every glass into an Only The Brave experience.
A meeting of destiny: Renzo Rosso and Roberto Cipresso
In 1993, Renzo Rosso purchased the 100-hectare hillside estate of Diesel Farm out of love for his farming roots and immediately began producing artisanal red wine. One day, Roberto Cipresso, a world-renowned winemaker from Bassano del Grappa, happened to be having lunch at the farm. Cipresso, recognizing the terroir’s great potential, challenged Renzo to produce great wines like those produced in Burgundy.
Thus, in the volcanic and calcareous soils of the estate, 300 meters above sea level, with a tailored approach to the vineyard, various grape varieties were planted, giving rise to a deliberately limited production, focused on extreme quality, which saw the first bottle produced in 1999.

My desire is to offer a quality wine that embodies the secrets of an artisanal winery: from the cultivation and harvesting methods to the winemaking process.
(Renzo Rosso)
Wines to Taste
Inside the cellar, the wines—produced simply but with great care—rest in steel vats, concrete tanks, oak barrels, or directly in the bottle, giving rise to various labels, including:
Bianco di Rosso (Chardonnay): A white wine that amazes with its vibrant minerality. Aged in barrique, it releases notes of exotic fruit and vanilla, maintaining a sharp freshness reminiscent of hillside breezes.
Rosso di Rosso (Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon): The “iconic piece” of the collection. A powerful and elegant Bordeaux blend, with hints of red berries, spices, and a silky tannin structure that evolves beautifully over time.

Nero di Rosso (Pinot Noir): the most difficult challenge, elegantly conquered. A subtle, complex wine that expresses the delicacy of Pinot Noir, lovingly cultivated on steep slopes.
Grappa di Rosso: a tribute to Bassano’s tradition, a refined grappa that captures the essence of the Farm’s pomace, crafted in collaboration with “maestro” Gianni Capovilla.

The Tasting Experience
Visiting the Diesel Farm winery is more than just a “drink,” but a rite of initiation into the Only The Brave philosophy. The tasting begins with a tour of the barrel cellar, an almost mystical place where wood and wine interact in the silence of the hillside. Then, you enter the various barrels and a “museum” section where you can observe the different terroirs framed like works of art and learn about the history of the Farm through giant paintings and beautiful photographs that recount its various stages.
The wines, guided by expert staff who recount the evolution of the project, are tasted in the scenic tasting room on the first floor, accessed by a beautiful staircase, a work of art covered, like a patchwork, with carpets salvaged from the Hotel Ancora in Cortina, one of Renzo Rosso’s latest acquisitions, recently renovated, as are many of the seats.

The tasting is accompanied by extra virgin olive oil produced on the estate and bread baked in a wood-fired oven. Upon request, the experience can be enhanced with platters of artisanal cured meats and cheeses. It’s also possible to continue with lunch or dinner at the adjacent Cucina Diesel Farm, perhaps on its charming terrace overlooking the hills and Bassano del Grappa.
The Secret
As the crow flies, Diesel Farm is 55 km from the sea and 55 km from the mountains. It extends across five hills, and five is Renzo Rosso’s magic number, a number that has always brought him luck and which he pursues in every one of his projects.
