With a magnificent ancient grapevine embracing the outdoor terrace and a welcoming country-chic atmosphere, Ai Tre Garofani is a hidden gem located in the Venetian countryside.
Born from a former bacaro (traditional wine bar) in the Venetian countryside, for over 40 years a sincere and passionate family management has made this food and wine paradise an unmissable address for lovers of good fish.
Managed by Renzo, a talented creator of delicious dishes that revisit tradition with creativity, and by his wife Michela who supports him in the room service, Ai Tre Garofani has already won an annual presence in the best gourmet guides such as the Michelin one.
The interior décor was created by the owners themselves, creatively choosing objects and fabrics capable of instilling original personality in the various rooms, mixing recycled furniture with country-style fabrics, in a fun succession of curious details. Each room boasts a different allure: from the “hat room”, to the “clock room”, up to the large one illuminated by five English-style windows characterized by sky-blue walls and large wall mirrors that amplify the spaces.
The mise en place is simple and elegant, completed by the many flowers and candles that embellish each table, varying according to the seasons. The fish, always very fresh, is personally chosen by Renzo at the local fish markets in Chioggia or in nearby Jesolo in order to ensure his customers raw materials of the highest quality. From the fish salad to spaghetti pasta with caviar and chives, from lobster with fresh fruit to octopus with tuna sauce and capers, up to octopus with curry sauce, each recipe speaks of tradition revisited thanks to experience of chef Renzo.
Do not miss the risotto con i go, a truly rare recipe typical of the island of Burano, prepared only when it is in season using these delicate and tasty lagoon fish. Also excellent is the choice of desserts, rigorously homemade, and the wine list capable of satisfying all needs.
Born from the pure passion for the art of eating well of Renzo, who here created his kingdom made of dedication, care and innate talent, Ai Tre Garofani is a place where you may feel to come back both for a special occasion or a dinner with friends, surrounded by that familiar atmosphere capable of truly conquering anyone.
The déhor, now just fabulous for a dinner under the fifty-year-old vine, was born almost by chance from the natural evolution of the plant, originally used as a shelter for the bikes of local customers who stopped at the bacaro to drink “the last goto” (the last drink) before returning at home.
