During Pitti Taste in Florence, the Party Box by Cru Caviar, the first producer of Beluga in Italy, made its debut, an event with a unique format in which the Caviar Maître in "black gloves" accompanies guests in the discovery of the ritual of tasting pure caviar.

Preceded by lots of bubbles, the highlight of the evening was the opening of the 1 kg can of caviar in the presence of the Caviar Maître of Cru Caviar, a still splendidly artisanal company based in Scorzè in the province of Venice, who entertained the guests by guiding them through the tasting in purity, that is, strictly from the palm of the hand or with a mother-of-pearl spoon.

A unique format – that of the party with the handy refrigerated box and maître “delivered at home” – created by Cru Caviar, an excellence of Made in Italy, led for three generations by the Bettinazzi family, a leader in the aquaculture sector and the first Beluga producer in Italy, the second largest producer of caviar in the world, after China.

The Bettinazzi family began breeding sturgeons in the 1980s, reviving a tradition that has its roots in the history of Italy, as the chronicles of the Gonzaga family, lords of Mantua since 1300, remind us, who loved to offer this fish during their sumptuous banquets.

There are many reasons for the value of sturgeon eggs – the word Caviar derives, in fact, from Persian and Greek and means “fish eggs” – including the long life cycle of this animal, which begins to produce them after at least 20 years of life, and the large quantity of vitamins, proteins, minerals, and essential fatty acids contained that help the cardiovascular system and skin hydration and nourishment.

In addition to the Party Box, Cru Caviar also offers another unique experience, that of immersing yourself in the waters of the Mincio River Park, near Mantua, where its production site is located, together with sturgeons, a fascinating prehistoric animal, followed by tasting various types of caviar.

The Secret

Sturgeon is a prehistoric animal, exactly the same as it was more than 250 million years ago, which easily reaches 100 years of age. Protected fish species, fishing in the wild has not been allowed since 1998 when the CITES Regulation to safeguard it restricted its use to only farmed fish.
