Born in 1987, which over the years has become a true symbol of good Italian drinking, Prime Uve, the gem in the crown of the historic Treviso distillery Bonaventura Maschio, in 2023 gave itself a new, elegant look.

The new bottle tells the essence of this renowned product through its many uniquenesses. The vintage allure praises its long history, while the glass modeled on the neck in the shape of the typical rows of vines and, in the lower part, of grapes and droplets of distillate, reveals its origin.

Prime Uve is born, in fact, from the berries of the best sun-ripened grapes. After the harvest, the grapes are subjected to careful and controlled fermentation and then processed following an exclusive Bonaventura Maschio method which involves distillation carried out under vacuum at low temperature in copper stills, to capture all the aromatic nuances.

Prime Uve is a “distillation” of attention to detail, of richness of detail, of unique aromas that we wanted to tell in this new bottle.

Being produced directly from grapes, unlike grappa which is made with pomace, allows the master distiller to take control of all the production choices, as well as to modulate each step of processing the raw material, in order to obtain a spirit rich in aromatic nuances and preserve the typical aromas of the starting vines.

The birth of Prime Uve is due to Italo Maschio, the fourth generation of the Bonaventura Maschio company founded at the end of the 19th century, who, together with a group of passionate masters of the art of distillation, gave life to grape distillates in the 1980s, over the years increasingly popular both as digestives and for their use in the preparation of cocktails and refreshing drinks.

Today are Italo’s children Anna and Andrea Maschio from the Gaiarine headquarters, in the province of Treviso, where the company museum is also located and tastings can be booked, who carry on the historic distillery. The passion for quality and continuous research has led the brand to constant innovation, such as the birth of Tiramisù di Casa and Amaro Pratum Biologico.

Where to best enjoy Prime Uve? In a magical place that combines the charm of the old taverns and rural farms with the raw material with which it is produced: grapes and lots of sun.

The Secret

The link between Prime Uve and its bottles has always been emblematic: the first ones were, in fact, in pure blown glass, with no label and just a bunch of grapes worked in relief to underline, then as today, the relationship of purity and extreme proximity between the finished product and the raw material.
