The common denominator of all Renzo Rosso‘s projects is a strong, genuine, ancestral passion. This is how, at the beginning of the 90s, the Farm was also born: the gut purchase of these 100 hectares of hilly land led him to dream of recreating a small “Burgundy” respecting nature and biodiversity of this rich territory.

Thanks to the help of his friend Roberto Cipresso, he began to cultivate vineyards with Chardonnay, Pinot Nero, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, he created olive groves, organic gardens, and he raised animals. Years later, Renzo Rosso converted the entire company’s production to organic.

Today the winery produces about 25,000 bottles under the skillful supervision of the oenologist Umberto Marchiori. Its flagships are the Rosso di Rosso, from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, Icon, obtained by isolating the best portions of the Merlot and Cabernet vineyards, then vinifying whole grapes in barrique, the pure Pinot Nero di Rosso and MeRRlot.

In addition to the reds, the Farm also signs Bianco di Rosso, a Chardonnay fermented in French oak barrels, Celebrating 55, a traditional method bubbly wine, the brand new Rrosé, an interpretation of Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, ironically a #nogender wine because it does not take a position, being neither white nor red, the extra virgin olive Olio di Rosso and the Grappa di Rosso.

The first bottle of Rosso di Rosso was born in 1999, obviously with a very fashionable packaging with stamping of the writings on the glass, manual numbering as in old Madeira bottles, and closing with flaming red sealing wax.

For Renzo Rosso, the Diesel Farm has always been a second home where he invites friends over, childhood ones as well as the new ones he has met around the world, making them fall in love even more with Italy, like Bono Vox, and more recently Achille Lauro.

The Secret

Number 5 is Renzo Rosso’s lucky charm and, for this reason, he always “carries it” with him, even when it comes to the Farm: the wine’s cork is 5 centimeters long, the property is 55 km from the sea, 55 km from the mountains, and it extends over 5 hills.
