Villa Verecondi Scortecci (TV)
In Colle Umberto, nestled among the Prosecco hills, Villa Verecondi Scortecci is a romantic and charming residence with 400 years of noble history, where you can spend a holiday surrounded by nature or organize a dream event.
With a past that has its roots back to the year 1000, the Palladian Villa Verecondi Scortecci retains the authentic charm of timeless noble residences, among velvets, silver candelabras and precious objects handed down through generations gracefully combined with contemporary divertissements.
Property of Countess Azzolina degli Azzoni Avogadro, who completely renovated it in 2004 together with her daughter Alvina and son Lorenzo, the residence is the perfect refuge for a romantic escape in the countryside, a stay of pure relaxation or an exclusive event with the plus of being welcomed directly by the family.
I always enjoy getting lost in the depths of the tranquility of the morning.
(Richard Mile)
The current structure of the villa, originally owned by the Venetian count Giovanni Gamba, is due to the intervention of the architect Vincenzo Scamozzi, a pupil of Palladio, who in the 16th century enlarged it according to the horizontal structure typical of the famous Renaissance genius.
At the center of the residence stands the banquet hall, from which you can access four other rooms once used as sitting rooms and decorated with elegant seventeenth-century stucco reliefs. The property was purchased by the Verecondi Scortecci counts in 1945, acquiring its current name and, following the marriage of Countess Azzolina to Count Alvin Verecondi Scortecci, it became the family’s country residence.
The interiors, elegantly restored, offer 3 suites and 3 luxury apartments, one of which boasts an extraordinary 360° view. It is, in fact, housed in an ancient medieval tower built around the year 1000 by the Da Camino counts.
Also available to guests is the beautiful infinity pool, complete with pool bar, a peaceful corner to enjoy a sunbath in total privacy lulled by the pleasant sound of the centuries-old trees that surround the villa.
The services of the structure are completed by a wellness area with sauna, Turkish bath and an en plair air jacuzzi to relax while sipping a drink. The family produces in the estate four lovely wines, from Prosecco and other kinds of sparkling wines up to an excellent still white produced with Garganega grapes.
On the property, there is also a beautiful frescoed church, built in the 18th century and dedicated to Madonna della Salute, which overlooks the large garden decorated, in summer, with suggestive lounge areas where you can chat or have an aperitif. In addition to being the perfect setting for a dream event, the villa is also open, upon reservation, for private tastings, cooking classes and very romantic candlelit dinners.
The Secret
During the First World War, the property was requisitioned by the Austro-Hungarian command who covered the walls with black pitch, fortunately without affecting the stucco. Today, the signatures of the soldiers who lived here for more than a year are still visible on a wall of the villa.
