Born from the restoration of the fifteenth-century Palazzo Bacchini delle Palme on the Grand Canal, Palazzo Venart is one of the most beautiful and romantic 5-star hotels in Venice, restored to its former glory thanks to a skilful restoration and interior design project that observed the rules of Feng Shui.

Opened in 2016, Palazzo Venart is located in San Stae inside one of the most famous Venetian palaces, formerly owned by the Lion and Vernier families, and therefore home to the great warlord and patron of the arts Pandolfo Malatesta, lord of Rimini, and the captain Francesco da Bussone, known as Count of Carmagnola.

Destroyed by a fire at the end of the 19th century, the palace was immediately rebuilt: on the first floor, at the entrance to the “Marco Polo” room, you can still see the date 1888 set in the precious Venetian floor, which testifies to the year in which it was completed.

A treasure chest nestled between the Grand Canal and the quiet streets of the Santa Croce district.

A sign of destiny for the Taiwanese LDC group, world leader in luxury hotels of the Chang-Koo family, considering that in Chinese numerology 888 has the meaning of triple luck. So, after acquiring it, the Group began an impressive conservative restoration that maintained all the original characteristics of the structure, impeccably recovered by expert Venetian masters.

Thanks to the great passion for Italian art of the Chang-Koo family, the interiors of the hotel take us back to the dream of the Renaissance with many works of art and antiques that were personally chosen by the owners, paying meticulous attention to detail.

The atmosphere you breathe is, in fact, the intimate one of a luxury private residence made extraordinarily welcoming by its impeccable staff coordinated by the General Manager Luana Mazzega, the perfect hostess.

The structure hosts 17 rooms and 4 apartments, all different from each other and dedicated to illustrious figures such as Titian, Marco Polo, Casanova and Lord Byron, enriched by Rubelli fabrics and marble bathrooms, as well as gilded mirrors, leaded windows, and Murano glass chandeliers that date back to the golden age of the palace.

Over the centuries, the building has always been one of the most exclusive and spectacular in the city, so much so that in 1819 it also appeared in the tourist guide entitled “Foreigner Educated in the most valuable and curious ancient and modern things of the city of Venice”.

The splendor that the Palace has witnessed can be admired in the spectacular entrance of the Hotel with frescoes dating back to the 19th century that recall the essence of the famous work painted by Michelangelo Mortalier at Palazzo Grassi and show convivial scenes of Venetian society of the time.

A corner of paradise from every point of view and one of the best gastronomic experiences in Italy that overlooks the marvelous internal courtyard of the palace.

Here, in the shade of an ancient magnolia, or in the garden on the Grand Canal, you can have an aperitif or delight in a long gourmet breakfast, while a room on the ground floor also hosts a bistro for a more informal lunch or dinner.

One of the most magical stays in the Lagoon, hidden among the streets of the most authentic Venice, yet close to its main artistic beauties.

The Secret

Originally the front of the ancient residence overlooked the Grand Canal, but in 1845 a fire destroyed the facade, leaving space for the current “garden on the water” which was embellished with statues and works of art, some of which came from the Roman archaeological site of Altino. In the years that followed, the owner Bacchini delle Palme donated part of the collection to the Altino Museum, while others were left to decorate the suggestive garden.
