The atmosphere that reigns inside is sublimated by its fascinating history: the palace was in fact inhabited for a long time by a wealthy Venetian family of lawyers so that the current owners, Gian Luca and Gabriella, decided to keep some of the original furnishings – mixing them with important design pieces by Philippe Starck, Mises Van der Rohe, Flos, Vitra, Ingo Mauer, Alivar – just to allow their guests to really feel like at their Venetian home during their stay.
Gian Luca, a former restaurant owner from Lombardy, is the eclectic creator of this magnificent place. Thanks to a pinch of madness, true genius, and a huge love for Venice, in 2012 he began the renovation of Corte Gabriela with the idea of maintaining the charm of the ancient Venetian residences, yet in a totally sustainable key. Thanks to an innovative water recovery and purification system, developed in order not to pollute the city’s canals, the attention to the reduction of plastic or avoiding any waste of paper, as well as the use of local products, it is the only structure of central Venice to have obtained the European Eco-Sustainable Hotel Certificate.
Its 10 rooms plus 1 deluxe suite, all different from each other, will make you enter a fairytale world, thanks to the beauty of the precious frescoed ceilings, the traditional Venetian floors, the huge living room overlooking the small canals of San Marco and…the beating heart of the Hotel: its beautiful secret courtyard. Wrapped in plants, flowers, and the wisteria that climbs between the external walls creating a striking floral ceiling, it looks like heaven in the evening, better if enjoying a long drink or a spritz, the authentic Venetian aperitif.

Gian Luca is not only the manager but also the chef of the hotel. He will prepare, if requested in advance, anything you might wish for: a crepe with homemade jam, a cake to celebrate a special moment, eggs scrambled to perfection with lard melted on top or, for the healthiest, home-made yogurt and gluten-free products.
