History: Reclaiming the Identity of a Marvelous Era

Behind the extraordinary evolution of the legendary Casa Bianca Hotel in Lido di Jesolo in recent years lies the vision of entrepreneur Mario Moretti Polegato and the historic hotelier family of Igor and Daniel Menazza, who entrusted architect Rosario Picciotto of Rome’s RPC8 studio with the profound restoration of the structure’s historic identity, a process that has now been underway for five years.

The project has brought to light the graphic, architectural, and emotional hallmarks of that marvelous era, the early 20th century. The atmosphere that reigns as you step across the threshold of the new terrace immediately evokes the Fellini-esque atmosphere of the Grand Hotel in Rimini and the cinematic luxury that has made Italian seaside tourism an international icon.

The name is a tribute to the hotel’s construction date, 1923, which was followed by years of great splendor for the Casa Bianca, which was chosen as a “second home” by many members of the international jet set of the Belle Époque.

The Terrace Design: Between Escher-esque Illusions and Infinite Horizons

The true magic of the 1923 Casa Bianca Seaview Lounge lies in the geometric and conceptual design of its sea-view terrace, and especially its floors. Walking onto the outdoor space, guests are captivated by an Escherian vista, a play of perspective inspired by the famous geometries of artist Maurits Cornelis Escher, where lines merge and create an optical illusion of infinity.

The terrace was conceived as a true projection toward the sea. The geometric and sensorial sensation is that of being aboard a vintage ship in the middle of the Adriatic. The pinnacle of this spectacular perspective illusion is reached at the “bow” of the terrace: here, strategically positioned at the point furthest towards the horizon, are two romantic stools, the perfect spot for endless aperitifs.

Cocktails and Signature Evenings

The 1923 Casa Bianca Seaview Lounge is accessed via a staircase and elevator separate from the hotel. It offers two bars and a large terrace where guests can order drinks and cocktails, both classic and excellent signature drinks like Velvet and French75, as well as a refined selection of spirits.
