The Story: Eros and the Soul of Stilla
Eros Altavela was born with a passion—one he honed over years traveling the world in some of the most famous bars in history, from the Novikov Restaurant & Bar to Gordon Ramsey’s York & Albany Hotel in London to the Grand Hotel Tremezzo on Lake Como—to make the ritual of mixed drinks an art.
Fostered by constant study and an insatiable pursuit of the finest ingredients, Eros returned to his native Marostica in 2023 and took over what was once a small wine bar, next to the legendary Osteria Madonnetta. Here, he created his dream cocktail bar, which he called “stilla,” the drop, that infinitesimal unit of measurement that separates a common drink from a liquid masterpiece.

A lounge that combines international atmospheres with the warmth of Venetian osterias
Everything at Stilla is designed to offer its guests the best: from the large bar counter (where you can also eat), the heart of the venue, with leather seating and bejeweled bag holders, to the outdoor seating overlooking the medieval city walls, from the internal garden featuring velvet curtains and numerous works of art, to the original lighting system created by Ailis di Marostica, such as the LED lighting that recalls the coil of a still. A cocktail bar with an international atmosphere that could be found in London or New York, but with a profoundly Venetian heart.
Eros has sought to involve many local artists in his venue, with constantly changing works available for purchase, such as those provided by Luce sull’Arte, an art store in Marostica, or those created by Alessia Sommavilla, demonstrating the venue’s artistic vocation and its philosophy of “good drinking.”
The Signature Drinks: Experiences in the Glass
Stilla’s drinks list is an ever-evolving sensory journey, featuring infusions and syrups almost entirely produced in the in-house laboratory, guaranteeing a unique aroma unlike any other. It also features artisanal spirits, such as those from Opificio Caput Mondi and Capovilla, and even very rare ones, such as the 1989 Linkwood whisky bottled by Samaroli, which Eros acquires on his travels around the world and at specialized auctions.
All the cocktails on the menu are his own creations, except for one of his bestsellers, the Pornstar Martini, made with vanilla vodka, passion fruit puree, lemon, and classic method wine, which pays homage to Douglas Ankrah, with whom Eros worked in London, one of the most influential bartenders of the millennium.

Stilla: Made with Roots Mastiha liqueur, yuzu puree, lime, Sichuan pepper, ginger bitters, and soda water, inspired by the Muscow Mule, one of Eros’ favorite drinks.
Narciso Rodriguez for Her: Made with rose gin, jasmine and cardamom tincture, St. Germain, white water, lemon juice, peach bitters, and Paragon Vetiver cordial, for a cocktail that captures the sense of smell, just like the famous designer’s signature scent.
Eros: Created for the Como Cocktail Competition, inspired by feminine Eros, this cocktail is made with Stoli Elite vodka, St. Germain, Ezra Brooks Bourbon, Maraschino, Campari bitters, Laphroaig 10yr, and lemon juice.
The Wine List and Food Pairing
In addition to cocktails, Stilla also offers a selection of wines and beers from small wineries, such as Champagne Baccini made in Avize by Marco Baccini of Marostica, as well as a food menu that includes cold cuts and cheese platters, meatballs with lime mayo and Tabasco sauce, and slices of artisanal pizza to accompany your evenings.

The Secret
The Stilla logo was designed by Eros’ brother, the graphic designer Andrea Altavela, and depicts the curve of a still as well as a stylized drop, while Goto Studio from Marostica creates all the seasonal menus.
