In the center of Padua, a workshop and concept store where Gloria and Loriana, artists and decorators, offer their wonderful customizable creations, from glazed ceramics to velvet bags with initials, up to colored teddy bears, where everything is unique and handmade.
A world of tableware and fashion accessories that satisfy every desire for color or decoration. It is the magic born from the meeting between Gloria Dianin, ceramic artist, and Loriana Ingrasciotta, modiste and embroiderer, who combined their passions to make a dream come true.
One day, daydreaming, they were struck by a small bohemian corner in one of the most picturesque streets of Padua, near Piazza Capitaniato, and right there, at the beginning of 2023, they decided to open their atelier, Laboratorio GL, from initials of their names.
In the laboratory we combined various arts, such as painting and sewing, to give life to unique objects in which ancient manufacturing traditions and contemporary beauty blend.

A small corner of paradise that they have designed down to the smallest detail and furnishings, such as the recycled wood counter that recalls those of the shops of the past, the red velvet curtains that add a warm theatricality to the shop or the large table that welcomes the visitor and displays the works of Gloria and Loriana.
Gloria, in fact, with a past in haute cuisine where she retains an obsessive love for mise en places, is today a ceramic artist. Thanks to the collaboration with two kilns in Este and Nove, cities that still preserve the traditions of some of the oldest manufacturers in Europe of this artisanal excellence, she creates and paints truly unique objects based on her own design.
In her hands come to life plates decorated with initials, cups, vases, and even the famous Sicilian pine cones accessories which can be ordered and enamelled in any colour, just perfect for matching your home.
Splendid objects that Gloria imports in raw “bisque” directly from Caltagirone, another famous capital of ceramics, and which pay homage to the land of origin of her partner and friend. Loriana, in fact, is the granddaughter and daughter of a dynasty of Sicilian dressmakers and embroiderers, capable of transforming any fabric into a small masterpiece.
From custom-made table linens to stain-resistant removable underplates, from velvet bags and shoppers embroidered with your initials to capsule collections of clothing items. And then there are the beautiful “GL” signature lamps, with the ceramic base and the matching fabric lampshade, in which the arts of Gloria and Loriana magically meet.
The atelier also hosts, offering constant innovations, the creations of other artists selected by Gloria and Loriana, such as crayon greetings cards by the illustrator Anna Tamiazzo, fabric bears and floral compositions.
A concept store that takes on an enchanting appearance for the Holiday Season, among glazed Christmas trees, perfect for serving as placeholders, customizable garlands, and giant fabric teddy bears that can be made of any size and colour.
And just like a ceramic object, here you will never find two identical products because everything is handmade, customized or the result of new ideas, shapes and combinations only as the genius of Italian high manufacturing can create.
The Secret
Every now and then in the shop you can find a special guest: it is Loriana’s mother, a fine embroiderer, who you can admire as she creates unique and special objects resulting from the centenary tradition of her family originally from Modica in Sicily.
