Feria Restaurant & Bistrot (TV)
At the gates of Treviso, an oasis of Indonesian flavors with a unique offering in Veneto which, thanks to the passion and knowledge of chef Marco Feltrin, leads guests to discover a joyful and unexpected cuisine that recalls distant and unexplored exotic places.
It is a passion born since he was a boy, that of Marco Feltrin, which took him on his personal “tour around the world”, starting from Treviso, with stops in London, at Harry’s Bar, passing through the kitchens of Nobu and Heinz Beck to Australia. To then arrive in Jakarta, where he fells in love…in the kitchen, as well as in real life.
Together with his wife Sriyanti, in 2021 he decided to return to his native Treviso to create a restaurant where the flavors of Indonesian cuisine, but also of Vietnam, Thailand and Japan, could be “interpreted” by his demanding Italian palate to create surprising recipes made using both local and “exotic” raw materials.
I fell in love with the flavours, colors and textures that I experienced during my travels in South-East Asia and which became the basis of inspiration for my idea of cooking and spending time together.
(Marco Feltrin, chef)
Marco Feltrin’s cuisine observes long processes, slow cooking times, and involves the use of tasty herbs and spices while following the typical and traditional culinary heritage of Indonesian cuisine. Feria’s commitment is, in fact, aimed at respecting the culture that inspires the gastronomic proposal as a fundamental element of its culinary philosophy.
To look after guests, as well as creating the wine and cocktail list, Marco turns to Regis Ramos Freitas, his friend and former colleague. So in 2021 the creative trio opens Feria, a place with a double guise – restaurant and bistro – and a single soul: the name, in fact, means “party” in Spanish and well interprets the sense of joy and sharing that can be felt as soon as you enter its threshold.
At the entrance, the Satè Bar, named after the typical Indonesian skewers, welcomes guests: a bistro & cocktail bar where, in addition to excellent drinks, you can taste, in small portions perfect for sharing, the tastiest dishes of Indonesian cuisine, particularly inspired by South-East Asian street food, perfect for an aperitif but also an informal dinner.
The décor of the venue is beautiful, with “forest” green walls that create an intimate yet relaxing atmosphere, interrupted by splashes of color from works of art and designer furnishings by Arper.
All around, a wonderful tropical garden which becomes the soul of the place on spring and summer days.
The largest room is dedicated to the fine dining restaurant, open in the evening, which takes guests to discover Asia in its warmest, most intense and colorful image. The protagonist here is the beautiful open kitchen where Marco Feltrin, together with his team, fascinates guests as he prepares cuts of meat and other delicacies, with slow, delicate but decisive gestures, which are then placed on the yakitori grill and embellished with sweet and sour sauces.
Among the dishes you absolutely must try: Dabu Dabu, amberjack, green tomato and lemongrass, Jagun Bakar, with corn, tofu and eggs, Rendang, with beef, coconut and cinnamon, Taucho, based on cauliflower, egg yolk and soy, Mie Aceh, with noodles, scampi, cardamom, and Ikan Bakar, with turbot, white pepper and horseradish.
Sommelier Regis pampers guests in the dining room with a selection of wines that tell the story of people and territories near and far, as well as an offer of original cocktails and craft beers.
Feria is a truly special place, not only because it offers the unique opportunity to feel in one of those welcoming and vibrant venues, with international atmospheres, like you can find in the center of London or NY, but above all because it is animated by energetically beautiful souls.
The Secret
Marco began his experience in haute cuisine right in the premises where Feria is located today, which once hosted L’Undicesima Vineria of the starred chef Francesco Brutto. A “coming back home”, therefore, in every sense.
