In a fascinating former industrial context that reveals its recovered soul, Charta Eat & Drink is a unique concept born from an idea of Valentina Zago, owner of Pro-Gest Group, which combines the various passions of the group: love for beauty and the art of hospitality, the flavors of the Zago Gasparini winery and their “green” soul devoted to recycling.

Born in May 2022, among spectacular installations of luxuriant plants and intimate and reserved rooms, Charta Eat & Drink is a small Eden where you can find refuge for a gastronomic break in the name of design and taste or discuss business, perhaps reserving the beautiful business room upstairs.

I aimed to create a contemporary proposal, where one can feel like in a big city where “everything could just happens” even if we are at the gates of Treviso. The perfect place for a light break from work, lunch & dinner or just an aperitif.

The design, conceived by Valentina with the consultancy of La Centrale Interni and Venice Green for the internal greenery, is a continuous mix of styles that creates different suggestions depending on the time of day. Starting from the large convivial table, obtained from a single trunk of 10 meters, which welcomes visitors, flanked by the bar counter with the corner of the small pastry shop, where you can let yourself be tempted by the fresh home-made desserts of the day.

Among trees and plants, the space is divided into small rooms to ensure maximum privacy for customers who choose Charta for a “smart” business lunch or a romantic rendez-vous. Velvet sofas, a floral décor that changes every day, thanks to the sensitivity of the visual designer Vania De Vidi, and the many works of art, including the armchairs and butterflies by the versatile artist Carla Tolomeo, that complete the interior.

A truly unique feature is the “glass-house”, a private room overlooking a scenic waterfall, perfect for private convivial moments, while on the first floor there is the meeting room, equipped with a large screen and smart devices, just perfect for company presentations.

The cuisine of chefs Rocco Santon and Nicola Cavallin, coming from important experiences in fine dining, offers exclusively seasonal dishes prepared fresh every day by the brigade to offer the highest quality, even during the lunch break. From salads, such as Nizzarda with tarragon vinaigrette and marinated onions, to first courses, such as homemade ravioli with pears, walnuts and Taleggio cheese or tagliolini with cheese, raw scampi, pink pepper lime or fish and meat dishes, such as fillets, Fassona hamburger and cut.

The wine list includes the labels of the two family wine estates, the Zago-Gasparini in Collalto di Susegana and the Lagertal in Trentino for Chardonnay, Pinot Nero and Trento doc, as well as an original Gold Traminer that is absolutely worth trying. All wines are also offered by the glass.

On Saturdays, the delicious Charta brunch is not to be missed, with many sweet and savory options set up on the convivial table plus a series of à la carte dishes of the day for a truly special “weekend” treat. The Secret

The companies owned by the Zago family are market leaders in the production of top-level paper, boxes and packaging. In addition to the name chosen for the place, “Charta” which in Greek means precisely “paper”, the architecture of the building has also been designed interprets this long tradition. Looking at its facade, in fact, you can notice two wings: a white one, which represents the overlapping sheets of paper, and the other brown which, with its wavy pattern, represents the typical shape of the cardboard.
