The history of Borgo Mionetto is rooted in the rural traditions of Treviso in the 19th century. Master winemaker Francesco Mionetto founded the winery in 1887, driven by his love for his homeland. For over a century, the historic buildings of the village, where his family once lived, were the beating heart of artisanal sparkling wine and Prosecco production.
Over the decades, the winery has transformed from a local gem to an international leader thanks to its entry into the Henkell Freixenet Group, the world’s largest sparkling wine producer, while preserving its ancestral connection to its hills. In 2023, Borgo Mionetto was reborn according to the principles of sustainable architecture, combining its historic heritage with beautiful contemporary geometries in glass and steel.

The incredible “wine lounge” designed by Carmen Laner
The interior design is by Treviso-based firm Quiet Architecture and architect Carmen Laner, who emphasized local materials, natural light, and the excellence of iconic Italian manufacturing to create a striking structure.
The heart of the reception area is the large lounge, featuring large windows offering a marvelous view of the surrounding greenery and a floor-to-ceiling fireplace decorated with original black ceramic tiles.
Next door is the wine shop with a tasting room featuring Cappellini’s Newood Light chairs and stools, original Murano glass lamps crafted using the “pulegoso” glass technique that poetically evoke the effervescent bubbles of Mionetto Prosecco, and numerous Venini vases in the brand’s myriad orange hues.
The floor continues with two more tasting rooms, one charming with a sideboard and retro porcelain inspired by founder Francesco Mionetto, and a large meeting room with a large screen that can accommodate up to 130 people for dinners and events. All around, a large garden features tables and seating areas, sheltered from the sun by awnings or wisteria-covered branches, perfect for summer parties.

Inside the Wine Shop, the spotlight is on the Luxury Collection, Mionetto’s most prestigious and exclusive line.
This segment represents the winery’s finest winemaking, combining a selection of the most sought-after crus—such as the Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze DOCG and the single-vineyard vintages (Rive)—with exquisitely designed packaging. The bottles in the Luxury line are characterized by sinuous lines, precious materials, and artisanal glassmaking.

Guided tours: The visits begin in the historic cellar and lead directly to the production site, located underground at Borgo Mionetto to preserve the landscape, where the iconic orange bottles flow on conveyor belts like a scene from the film “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.”
Wine Tastings: You can book tastings led by a sommelier or more informal tastings accompanied by platters, to be enjoyed in front of the fireplace in winter or under the branches in summer.

The Secret
The birth of the iconic orange color dates back to the early 2000s, when Mionetto wanted to break the traditional mold of wine packaging to visually communicate its spirit: orange was chosen because it symbolizes energy, warmth, vitality, and a pioneering spirit. It is the color of the Italian aperitif, conviviality, and the “joie de vivre.” Along with the iconic 27-degree oblique label—reflecting the perfect slope of the Prosecco Hills—orange has become the Orange Sign, a unique trademark, making the bottle instantly recognizable in any international context.
