In the very central Via Carducci, in Mestre, training once again meets art in the John Reed Fitness club, the only gym in Italy capable of transforming every workout into a sensory journey.

Here, art, in addition to its decorative value, is an integral part of the experience. As demonstrated by the latest exhibition hosted in the brand’s Venetian headquarters, which once again confirms the visionary approach that makes John Reed an international point of reference for those looking for much more than just a place to train.

John Reed is a place where music drives the heart, artwork stimulates the mind, and creative energy becomes part of the daily performance, because ultimately, as the exhibition reminds us, We Are All Superheroes.

The new exhibition, open until September 30, 2025, is titled “We Are All Superheroes” and is curated by the artist Alessandra Pierelli and Francesca Baboni.

The project explores the concept of heroism in the contemporary era through the works of artists who rework the myth of the superhero in a pop key. Gus Andy creates portraits of characters with a cinematic aesthetic, Felipe Cardena hypnotizes with his kaleidoscopic collages, Fabrizio Ceccarelli expresses a neo-pop style between lettering and graffiti Andrea Poggipollini reinterprets icons such as Batman and Catwoman, elevating them to classical statues, Giulia Maglionico courageously tackles social issues and civil rights, while Alessandra Pierelli herself investigates identities and masks through pop sculptures in resin covered with drawing pins.

John Reed is the only fitness brand in Italy to combine training, art and music in an exclusive and multisensory format. A concept that has been very successful, leading John Reed to open 48 clubs in 12 countries, including Berlin, London, Istanbul, Los Angeles, present in Italy in Trieste and since 2017 in Mestre (members can obviously have access to all the gyms in the network).

The Mestre location extends over 2200 square meters distributed over two floors, equipped for every type of physical activity, from classes to weights, with audio quality guaranteed by a Bose system and an atmosphere that combines the energy of training with the beauty of visual art.

The exhibition project is the result of the vision of Samuele Frosio, abstract expressionist artist and MD of RSG Group Italia, who strongly supported the creation of the exhibitions set up inside the John Reed gyms. Frosio is, in fact, the “son of art” of Angelo Frosio, artist and founder of the important Bergognone Art School, the first social cooperative in the world to have used art as a treatment tool for people with cognitive disabilities.

At John Reed Fitness Mestre you can also find many permanent works, such as the beautiful Geishas by Ron Miller, set up in the various rooms designed as a sort of Wunderkammer of a contemporary traveler in which references to the East mix with those of the underground mood of suburban gyms.

The We Are All Superheroes exhibition, with free admission, can be visited, even by non-members of the Club, every Saturday from 3pm to 9pm by reservation on Eventbrite, or by request by calling the gym.

The Secret

John Reed is a fictitious name that, in the mind of the gym creator Rainer Schaller, evokes that of a “rocker” with a free soul and a curious mind. The first John Reed center was opened in Bonn in 2016 with the dream of creating a new gym concept that would enhance the importance of music during training and experiment with the healing power of art, making it an integral part of every session.
