The most beautiful sea view restaurants in Veneto
The end of summer is approaching, the evenings become clearer, the sky bluer and the sunsets more intense: the perfect season of the year to book a restaurant by the sea and enjoy one of the most beautiful shows that nature offers us every day.
On the beach or where the lagoon meets the sea, we have selected some of the restaurants with the most spectacular views and suitable for a special occasion. Remember to arrive at least half an hour before sunset.
The premises are listed in the order in which the sun rises (from East to West)!
Ai Casoni (Bibione, VE)
It is worth going to Ai Casoni just for the view, truly one of the most beautiful in Veneto as the sun sets right in front of the restaurant and its colors multiply endlessly reflected in the calm waters of the lagoon. The only restaurant located within a group of casoni, the traditional buildings of local fishermen built with marsh reeds, it is furnished with wood and recycled materials typical of the lagoon. These valleys have been made immortal by the Nobel Prize for literature Ernest Hemingway who, after spending so many holidays here, portrayed them in his book Beyond the River among the Trees. Arriving by water up to the Porto Baseleghe Lagoon, along the canals that go from Caorle to Bibione, is truly a unique experience. Ai Casoni is perfect for an aperitif or dinner; book one of the tables overlooking the lagoon or the very romantic gazebo “suspended” over the water which is accessed via a private walkway.
Marcandole al Mare (Lido di Jesolo, VE)
The restaurant Terrazza Mare is a splendid example of stilt house built on the water in the Dolce Vita style of the 60s and located right in front of the Piave Vecchia lighthouse (dating back to 1951, the year of the end of its reconstruction, after the previous lighthouse went destroyed during the Second World War). In 2016 it was taken over by the renowned fish restaurant Le Marcandole in Salgareda which transformed it into one of the top reference addresses along the Venetian coast for quality fish. Perfect for an aperitif at the Lounge Bar or a romantic dinner, Terrazza Mare, even if the sun sets behind the restaurant, in the evening offers a wonderful view of the lighthouse set between the mouth of the Sile river and the open sea. From here, you can admire, in the company of a good glass of wine, the boats that slowly return back home to the yacht marina. Book one of the two corner tables overlooking the lighthouse and, for a more romantic mood, make sure there are no parties planned in the adjacent lounge bar.
Da Jerry (Cavallino Treporti, VE)
A typical 1970s kiosk set along the Jesolo coast, the Da Jerry restaurant is located just a few meters from the sea, on the beach of Cavallino-Treporti. The simplicity of the place contrasts with the white curtains, oriental rugs and giant candle holders that make the place an oasis of refinement and taste that is truly unique for the area. Its owner, Mauro, has been, for years, an absolute guarantee for its loyal clientele for top-quality fresh fish and unrivaled raw dishes. In this part of the Venetian coast, the sun does not set on the sea, but enjoying the blue of the sky that blends with the sea in contrast with the gold of the sand, expertly illuminated by the lights of the kiosk, is truly a unique spectacle. Book one of the outdoor tables for two directly facing the beach.
Hoku Restaurant & Lounge Bar (Jesolo, VE)
Near Piazza Milano in Jesolo, Hoku is the front beach restaurant & cocktail bar located inside the Falkensteiner Hotel and inspired by the colorful suggestions of the Art Deco and Tiki style that made Miami so famous around the world. While the interiors of the cocktail bar look, in fact, at the Hawaiian tradition, including exotic plants and rattan stools, the restaurant is decorated according to the 30s style and all the furnishings, from the sofas in the restaurant to the armchairs on the terrace, have been made in the colors white and coral, including the beautiful giant sun umbrellas with colorful fringes. The cuisine is what you dream of when you are on vacation: light and tasty, with various light options, overseas influences and tasty Asian fusion proposals. Live DJ sets complete the experience both for lunch and dinner to really feel, for the time of an aperitif or a real vacation, in a tropical paradise!
Amarmio (Jesolo, VE)
Amarmio is located in the romantic “square” facing the beach inside the Casa Bianca al Mare, the oldest boutique hotel in Jesolo which this year celebrates 100 years of cinematic glam and international celebrities. The restaurant, designed by creating a sophisticated bioclimatic pergola with retractable windows, offers an environment full of natural light, truly suggestive at dinner time thanks to a spectacular play of reflections. The cuisine, headed by chef Paolo Businaro, follows a philosophy based on local excellence, such as fish from the Adriatic, and the absolute freshness of the products. Traditional recipes, such as sardines breaded with corn pan, fried fish or the famous risotto alla Mirandolina, are flanked by contemporary dishes with impeccable cooking where the flavor of seasonal products remains the protagonist. One of the few fine dining restaurants overlooking the sea and the only example of romantic historical architecture on the Jesolo coast.
Punta Conterie (Murano, VE)
In Murano, Punta Conterie is a space of industrial archeology where glass art, design and food & wine come together in a truly unique cultural hub of urban regeneration in the world. The Vetri Restaurant, the gem of the complex, is located on the top floor of the building with a beautiful panoramic terrace overlooking the three main canals of Murano, offering a wonderful view of the Venetian lagoon to the open sea. At the helm of the kitchen, the Italian-Filipino chef John Mark Nanit places the raw material at the center of his dishes, especially from the lagoon, accompanying it with creative accents resulting from juxtaposed textures and international contaminations. Punta Conterie is a real experiential journey that embraces the 5 senses, leading the visitor to discover the secrets of the island’s glass art, one of the most important craft traditions in the world.
In Marinetta Ittiturismo (Rosolina, RO)
Embraced by the blue waters, where the first branch of the Po Delta meets the sea of Rosolina, In Marinetta is one of the most enchanting fish farms in Veneto where gourmet cuisine and a timeless “à la marinière” style offer a truly unforgettable experience. The project was born in 2017 from the dream of four friends who decide to create a “refuge” for lovers of quality tout court. Thus, they choose one of the most iconic and evocative areas, the one in front of the Marina di Albarella, and build the fascinating panoramic structure that houses the restaurant from scratch. Sustainability and enhancement of the lagoons are the cornerstones of the philosophy that distinguishes In Marinetta in every aspect: from design to decor, from the choice of strictly local suppliers, to the creation of the menu. Entrusted to the chef Cristian Mometti, it offers recipes based on very fresh local fish such as spaghetti with clams and revisited recipes such as “Absolute Black”, homemade pasta noodles dressed with squid ink, cuttlefish in small pieces and served on a tongue of refermented black garlic and caviar. The raw fish, pink oysters and seared eel with roasted leek and Teriaki sauce prepared with Gin Caleri are also fabulous.
